		<description>I never heard of this before.  Great idea!  

Last year I gathered pine cones from our yard, spray painted them gold, and used them for our fall centerpiece.  I never thought to cook off the critters first, though.  I guess there must have been a few little guys stuck under all that paint.  Yuck.

I am also a fan of covering an orange with cloves. Another great seasonal activity that the kids can help with!
