Things I’m looking forward to this week
- Baking some tasty treats
- Christmas ham dinner with family
- Sewing – a few more projects to finish up
- Christmas Music Program at our church – my little angel will be singing in public for the first time!
- Christmas Eve – we all get new pj pants. Maybe we’ll watch a holiday movie together. My daughter loves Charlie Brown (esp. Snoopy).
- Seeing out-of-town family (can’t wait!)
- My daughter on Christmas morning (my hubby has a really fun idea to fill the living room with red and green balloons for that morning)
- Cinnamon buns on Christmas morning
- Playing in an ENORMOUS amount of snow (you wouldn’t believe how much we have)
- Mailing out Christmas cards … shamefully late (but I still love doing them)
- Giving gifts
- Relaxing in our pj’s on Christmas day
- Playing family games
Things I will NOT be doing this week
- Stressing out (a tough one for me)
- Attending multiple events (only the Christmas Program)
- Shopping
Here are some things I really enjoyed reading the past week or so. Enjoy!
Good Money Articles
- Lynnae at Being Frugal talks about the Power Of A Snowflake in regards to saving money.
- Frugal Dad talks about Breaking The Monthly Payment Mentality, emphasizing the total cost of something, rather than a payment you can ‘afford.’
- The Wisdom Journal gives us some Money Saving Mind Games to amp-up our savings.
On The Holidays
- Are you wildly wrapping gifts? Check out Rachel’s video on how to Tie a Perfect Gift Bow over at Small Notebook. It has adorable outtakes at the end too!
- Do you like winning things? How about really cool things? Head over to Christian Personal Finance for chances to win gifts including 2 IPods!
- Emily at Remodeling This Life lists 20 Things She Loves At Christmas. You’ll like her list and it might get you thinking about all the things you’re blessed with.
- Writer Dad speaks of an Honest Christmas, a must read for all the moms and dads out there.
- I just had to read Green Cupcakes … Ham Optional from The World According to Mommy. The title was just too funny. She gives you a recipe for Blueberry Cheesecake Cupcakes, and would you believe they have spinach and squash in them? Apparently you can’t even tell. If you have veggie-haters in your house you should definitely check out this post!
