Using domestic arts to live a simple, frugal life

koffee und thee sinds 1817To be more precise, I really love hot tea in a big ole mug with 2 sugars and 1 ice cube. I drink it in the afternoon almost every day during the girls’ naptime. A quiet house, a cup of tea … *sigh* … bliss.

Here are some of my favorite things from my Reader this week, best enjoyed with a cup of … tea.

The Green Panda Treehouse hosted the Festival of Frugality this week. They called it the “Dr. House Edition.”

I really like orgaznizing so it’s no great wonder that I enjoy reading Organizing Your Way. This week Mandi wrote about Organizing as a Lifestyle Rather Than an Event.

Jeff over at My Super-Charged Life wrote 25 Things Every Father Must Teach His Daughter About Life. Having a daughter, I really loved this post. Jeff, you should think of re-printing this one around Fathers Day.

Head over to Gather Little By Little to read about Debt Snowflaking. You’ve heard of the debt snowball right? Well, this goes along with that. What happens when you add snowflakes to your snowball?

Frugal Dad talked about the Cost of Watching Television, a timely post for me (stay tuned for more on that this coming week).

Ron at The Wisdom Journal had two posts I wanted to share with you this week.  This first one is How I Paid Over $120,000 in Debt in 52 Months, super encouraging for me. The other one was just really fun to read and I always like to give you something fun, Outs and Ins of 2009.

I discovered Lisa at The Well-Grounded Life through Simple Mom this week. I headed over to her site and subscribed right away. She has some great things to share. Like this post on how to Replenish A Springtime Pantry. I’ve been eager to get rid of my winter-only meals and mix up some salads, haven’t you?

Sherri at Serene Journey shared 7 Little Things That Make Me Disproportionately Happy. For instance: green lights all the way home. I told her one of mine was my hairbrush. Want to see what my other ones were? Check the comments of that post ;-)

Why I do what I do ~ Chloe was talking to David a few nights ago. Holding up two fingers (index and middle) she said, “See Daddy, I can pick with two!” She then proceeded to insert each finger into one of her nostrils, her face beaming with pride.

Haha – “See, Daddy, I can pick with two!” That’s priceless!

Thanks so much for including me in your good reads list!

I have to admit while I LOVE tea, I can’t make a good cup to save my life. It’s pathetic really, but I can never seem to get it right, with the exception of Tazo Chai made in milk, which I thankfully have perfected. Now I’m wondering if I’m skimping on the sugar and that’s my whole problem!

Thank you for mentioning the Festival. It was a ton of posts to read, but a lot of good tips in there.

Hot tea is nice, but nothing beats a big ole glass of sweet iced tea for me! Thanks for including my article about what fathers need to teach their daughters!

Ha ha! I totally agree w/ Mandi: that is just priceless!

I am addicted to Organizing Your Way (I might be a tad obsessive, lol!).

Thanks for the link to “25 Things Every Father Must Teach His Daughter About Life.” I am passing this on to my DH. He is always looking for good info on raising daughters.

And, like Mandi, I LOVE tea, but cannot make a good cup. Alas, I have to stick with coffee in the morning and Choffy in the afternoon. ((Sigh)).

:)
