Today I’m keeping it brief because I’m busy in the kitchen (I’m actaully wearing my flour-covered apron as I type this). I love Thanksgiving. After God, my family is the most important thing to me and I love that there is a holiday forcing us all to eat a meal together. Isn’t it sad that it takes a holiday for everyone to be together sometimes? I live in the same town as my entire immediate family, but you will seldom find us all in the same room. It’s not that we don’t like each other. We’re just so busy. Each of us is consumed with our event-filled schedules not realizing that we’re missing out a little.
Today I hope you’ll have a meaningful conversation with someone you’ve been away from too much. I hope you’ll laugh with people that you love and enjoy the company of someone you hold dear. I know that’s what I’ll be doing.
Here are some posts and links that I really liked this week.
This week’s Holidays By Hand segment was hosted by Laura at One Of Three. My knitted hat (that I screwed up, but fixed) was featured there. I also really liked this lap blanket from Curiositys. Maybe I’ll tackle it once I get the hat down! Vintage Mommy also has some cute ideas to use up extra yarn for holiday gifts.
Another post of mine was also featured at the Carnival of Money Hacks hosted this week by Steadfast Finances. Another featured post that I liked was Destroy Debt’s 76 Ways To Save Money While Saving The Environment. One of the fantastic things about living a frugal lifestyle is that you have less waste. Great post.
What special family thing are you doing today? I’d love to hear about it.
Why I do what I do ~ because I love to stand outside my daughter’s bedroom door at nap time and listen while she sings to herself. It’s beautiful.
