Some things I’ve been reading the last few weeks that have really inspired me personally:
- The book Anonymous: Jesus’ Hidden Years … and Yours
by Alicia Britt Chole, also see her blog
- Rachel at Small Notebook talks about Finding The Motivation To Make A Change
- Tsh at Simple Mom advises When It Comes To Setting Goals – Be The Tortoise
- Frugal Dad asks Do You Suffer From Destination Addiction? He contrasts the never-ending pursuit of happiness with true contentment.
- Courtney from The World According To Mommy posted Go Ahead And Make Your Resolutions, Just Don’t Annoy Anyone With Them, telling about a recent experience when someone made her feel unwelcome. She describes her story then talks about her desire to be sure that people around her feel encouraged and welcome.
Here are a few good reads that have inspired my finances.
- Lynnae at Being Frugal held her Tightwad Tuesday this week highlighting a yummy, thrifty soup night!
- Clever Dude suggested that Time Metered Electricity Service might save you money as opposed to a level plan.
- Frugal Dad asks you to describe Why You Hate Debt In 5 Words Or Less. Talk about pinpointing your feelings …
- Jason at Live To Budget reminds us that Buying On Credit Doesn’t Mean You Can Afford It. That’s for sure.
Finally, many thanks to Andrea at The Train To Crazy and Kate from Curiositys for participating in the first installment of the Almost Lost Domestic Arts Series ~ Sewing. Next’s week’s topic will be knitting. I could really use some help on this one because I am very much a beginner. If you’d like to participate go here and see what to do. Thanks!
What’s inspired you this week?
I’ve finally joined Twitter. Head over there and follow me! I’ll be sure to return the favor.
Why I do what I do ~ My daughter has been sick with a cold for a few days. One day she asked me to put a band-aid on her forehead because it was hurting, another time she asked for more ‘cinnamon’ please. It took me a little while to realize that she was confusing her words, cinnamon=medicine.

Thanks so much for including me in your list! What a lovely little inspiration list you have. I’ve been feeling a little uninspired lately, so it’s nice to read about what makes others get up and go!
Keep up the great work!
