Sensible Review: Facial Moisturizer

in Saving Money

Personal care products: I grit my teeth when I have to spend money on them. $4 for shampoo and another $4 for the conditioner that goes with it, ugh. I have long hair so I go through hair-care products quickly. I care about my hygiene and my appearance though, so I suck it up and fork over the cash. Mind you, I don’t fork it over without looking for  a deal or a coupon or a little research.

moisturizerEvery once in a great while this pays off for me. About a year ago or so I was staring into the abyss of facial moisturizers, all promising their $10+ will give me radiant, healthy-looking skin. All I want is something light that will take care of the dry patches on my face; nothing fancy or weird – JUST SOME LOTION! Why does face lotion have to be so expensive? Then it appeared, on a low shelf (always look at the low/high shelves): St. Ives Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer. Nothing fancy and 10 oz.! It was priced just over $5. I thought, this is too good to be true, but I’ll buy it and see.

Having used it through every season for over a year now, my combination skin is in love with this lotion. Add to that, my mother and sister have both used it and loved it before even knowing the price.

If you are in the market for a low-cost, great quality facial moisturizer I encourage you to try it out.

Why I do what I do ~ For the first time ever my daughter and my cat, Fenway, took a nap together today. It was pretty cute.

I am going to look for this. The price is awesome. I went to the library once and checked out that book once that compares beauty products and it said that alot of the time you’re just paying for the advertising, and that the more expensive products don’t necessarily work any better.
