My awesome sister gave me a gift card for my birthday. There’s nothing like going shopping with someone else’s money
My gift card was for Bath and Body Works, which I LOVE. I went online to see what they had for deals and it just so happened they were having a great sale on their signature scents, which meant I’d be able to get even more than I had hoped! I jumped right in and choose my items, clicking them happily into my shopping cart.
In my excitement I almost forgot to search for a coupon code. Thankfully, I remembered as soon as I saw the little empty box next to “promotional code” at checkout. Even though it wasn’t my money I was spending, I still wanted to get the best possible deal, so I opened a new window and searched “bath and body works coupon code.” I was hoping to find a code for free shipping or a percentage off but they all seemed to be expired. Instead, I found a code to get a FREE travel-sized item. I found a travel-sized item I liked and added it to my cart. All of that took me about 3 minutes.
Whenever I shop online I search for a coupon code or promotional code (two different phrases meaning the same thing). I’m frequently able to find codes for a percentage off my purchase, free shipping or a free item. As a general rule when shopping online, if there is a place to enter a coupon/promotional code then there is a code out there to be used. This isn’t always the case but it usually is. If you open a new window and do a search you probably won’t have to search past the first 5 results to find a code to use. There have been very few times when I wasn’t able to find anything.
Not everyone is the search and find type though and that’s alright because there’s a great site you can go to that will do the work for you: RetailMeNot.com. Simply enter the site you’re shopping at and you’ll get a whole list of coupon codes, sales and printable coupons with expiration dates. The great thing about this site is that you can click whether the code worked for you or not and it averages the reliability of each code. This site is where I ended up finding the code for my free item. There are other sites similar to this one but I’ve personally only used this one.
Are there other coup0n code sites that have worked well for you? Have you gotten a great deal as a result of a coupon code before or is this idea completely new to you? Discuss your experiences in the comments. I’d love to hear them!
Why I do what I do ~ The other night, David prompted Chloe saying, “Can you say thank you to mommy?” She said, “Thank you mommy. Daddy can you say ‘great job?’” Hmmm … I think she’s read the script.
