I have had the same shower curtain for 6 yrs. Washes perfectly clean every time. I have a top loader and just wash by itself on warm. I hang it back in the shower to dry.

Oh wow! I am so glad I found this post. I feel so silly for never thinking of putting it in the washer! I usually get down in the tub and scrub the bottom of the liner by hand- but the washing machine will most definitely be easier and quicker! Thanks!

This is definitely a great idea, now if they could only come up with a solution that would prevent the mildew that grows on the shower curtain!

That never would have occurred to me. Beyond the expense, it is a pain to go out to and buy these, so I will certainly be trying this the next time I notice ours looking icky.

One word of caution. Do not hang them outside when it is below freezing. They will freeze and crack.

I don’t have a front-loader. Maybe someone else does that has tried it? Vinegar is a good idea!

Yes, this works. In fact, I just washed one of ours last week. The only pain is dripping water from it while carrying it to wherever I’m going to dry it.

Gotta try this! Do you have a front loader or a top loader? I think I might try adding some vinegar as the main problem on ours right now is hard water spots.
