Great ideas. Seems silly to pay money for something to toss your magazines and cards into!

My husband had a brilliant idea today that fits in with the repurposing concept.

I had a gift box that I was clearing out - it contained candy and coffee that I won as a door prize, and I have eaten most of the goodies now. He said "that's the perfect size for holding Christmas cards."

And it's a pretty festive box too.

Wine Boxes make excellent magazine storage boxes after a little bit of cutting with a sharp box cutter. Just cut out the sides with the handle and the spigot leaving a lip below th spigot area to contain the magazines. We don't drink alot of the stuff, but with all the parties around the holidays I expect to get a few. They can be covered with paper or fabric scraps to complement your decor.

When i was in Elm. School, for a FCCLA project we had fabric donated to us and my Good friend and i made these little dolls. something that you can easly make out of scrap materal, and we also made like dog/cat toys. there are so many endless things you can do with extra fabric!

Carla, you're definitely on the right track! Using pieces of clothing in multiple ways definitely counts as making the most of what you have.

I'm not sure if I'm on the right track but I try to do that with clothes. Though I'm a fashionista, I don’t have a whole lot of clothes so I try to mix and match when I can. A short dress can also be a tunic, etc.

I also try to do that with scrap fabric and yarn.

Carla’s last blog post..Emperor “Clean Coal” has no clothes
